What should I bring?
Bring colorful clothing, not necessarily brightly colored, but please bring more than all brown, black and gray. Soft pastels are out. I enjoy producing rich, deep colors in my photography, which could consist of deep blues, greens, red, crisp white, rich orange, etc. The best thing to do is to bring at least 10 changes. It's better to have and not need than need and not have. And don't forget to bring some of that funky stuff you never thought you'd wear. You'd be surprised how good that looks in a photo shoot.

Do you provide the makeup artist?
I have a database of more than 50 makeup artists around the country. I can recommend makeup artists or I can have one at the studio for the shoot. The makeup artist's fee is usually not included in the Package prices, but I run specials periodically that include the makeup artist in the total cost of the package. However, makeup artist fees range from $75 to $250 per face/look.

I don't wear makeup. Do I have to have a makeup artist?
Yes! I require a makeup artist for our shoot, unless I want to do something real funky without makeup. In every day life, I am sure that you are beautiful enough go makeup free. However, if you are serious about modeling, I wouldn't recommend au naturale for photo shoots. You'd be surprised how revealing and unforgiving a photo shoot can be.

What do you charge?
You can find my standard rate chart on the Rates page. Don't let the package prices scare you if you cannot afford it. I'm sure we can put together a custom package to fit within your budget. Just email me and let me know what you can afford to spend and we'll go from there.

I only need one picture. Do I have to pay full price?
We can develop a custom package to fit your specific needs. However, the minimum price of any shoot is $350.00. Getting one good image is just as demanding as getting 5 good images, so I am required to do the same amount of work regardless of how many pictures we end up taking. Consider everything involved with a photo shoot, such as equipment setup/breakdown, lighting, backdrops, hours in front of the PC downloading and formatting your images, etc. I still have material and overhead costs as well, such as electricity, rent, film, batteries, CD-ROM's, computer equipment, upgrades, supplies, etc. All these things are going to be required regardless of whether we shoot one image or two hundred. Packages cannot be divided by the number of looks you may be able to afford. The packages are set up to give you the most value for your money.

If I bring you business, can I get my pictures free?
"FREE" is one of my favorite words. Have you ever realized, though, that you usually get what you pay for? I love referrals from clients or future clients. Referrals are fantastic, but they do not always result in business for me. If I do a good job for a client, I almost always will get a referral. If I do a terrible job, I will get 10 negative referrals! That's business. But, if your referrals are in the form of paid deposits, then I'm sure we can work something out.

Why do I have to pay a deposit?
Time is money. If you would like to schedule a specific shoot date, a deposit is required. I reserve your time, which prevents me from scheduling another shoot during those same hours. Things happen sometimes that are beyond our control. If you miss your appointment for any reason, I will not be able to replace the time or money that I may have lost by not scheduling another appointment. I am assured that you will call and reschedule because you have submitted a non-refundable deposit. Or, if you decide that you don't want to shoot at all, you haven't lost 100% of your money, only your deposit. Plus, the deposit helps compensate me for the time lost if you do not show up for a shoot.

In the event we must reschedule a shoot, your deposit will apply toward the total balance due.

How and when do I send the deposit?
All deposits can be sent by mail to: 6503-A Mapleridge, Houston TX 77081. I cannot guarantee delivery of the mail, so please DO NOT send cash. A check or money order is preferred when mailing deposits. Or, you can always drop the deposit by. Just call to set up a time.

I don't require a deposit until we are ready to set a date to shoot. Once we've met, decided on what you are looking for and I have answered all of your questions, we will decide which price or package will be best for you. Then the next step is setting a date. Once we agree to a date and time, a 50% deposit will be due at that time.

I know someone who needs pictures, can I give her your number?
Absolutely! If you are recommending my business to anyone, feel free to pass my number on to them. You can email them my website, email address or mobile number. I am definitely open to business referrals. As a matter of fact, if you register, there is a space to add people you think could benefit from seeing my site. If at all possible, you can even email me your contact's information and I will give him/her a courtesy call on your behalf.

Do I have to travel to you for the shoot?
My loft studio is the best equipped to do what I need to do. I have the privacy and space I need when I'm doing a shoot. I don't have time constraints as I would if I were renting a studio or using someone else's equipment. We can take our time and produce the best quality product possible. My equipment is all here, such as lighting, ladders, backdrops, props, etc.

As far as location work is concerned: Since I absolutely love to shoot outdoors with available light, I can shoot virtually anywhere. However, I am most familiar with the city of Chicago. I know the city streets, buildings, landmarks and neighborhoods so it's a lot easier to navigate here than anywhere else that I may not be as familiar with. To answer the question, no. It's not required for you to travel to Chicago, but it will make things easier.

Will you pay my travel expenses?
There are lots of beautiful and talented models all over the country. I travel often, so I know many wonderful models from coast to coast. If you have national face and name recognition, and have appeared on the cover of a magazine, perhaps I would consider covering your travel expenses. However, most of the time, I handed you my card on one of my trips or we met at an event and I said you would be perfect for a calendar or a project I'm working on. That does not mean that I was planning on sending for you.

I love to travel, so I take as many trips a possible throughout the year. I may be in your city or close to it in the near future. You can check my calendar to see when I will be in your vicinity. Or if you belong to a model troupe or agency and we can work out a deal to shoot a few models in one weekend, I will make a special trip at no additional cost. Of course, I am always available for paid travel if you want to cover my expenses.

Can you get my photos in magazines?
If you are interested in print work, I try to submit my work for publication as often as possible, so there is a possibility your photo could appear in a local or national magazine. If your photo appears, I will acquire an additional tear sheet for your portfolio.

If my work is used for a national ad, you know I am going to give you a cut! I try to look out for models who look out for me. Usually, my images are used for magazine publication (editorial) or self promotion.

What if I have more questions?
If you have more questions than the ones listed here, please register, and you may ask your question in the "Comments" section at the bottom of the form. I will respond promptly with your answer. Thanks!
